As promised, I took some pictures Wednesday when I went to meet the home inspector. You can see them here. I’ve included a few here for those of you that don’t care to see all of them. As I was looking through the pictures I realized I didn’t get a good shot of the right side of the house, or a shot that shows the entire back yard.
As you’ll notice, there are a few things that need to be fixed or tidied up before we move in. This includes refinishing the kitchen cabinets, fixing or replacing the cracked tiles in the kitchen, and painting the front door. Cassie wants to do some painting too. Also, as soon as I we close I want to go ahead and get some more trees in the ground. We’re running out of prime tree planting season.
As for the home inspection, I haven’t gotten the report from the home inspector, but last time I spoke to him (about two hours into the inspection) he said he hadn’t found any major issues.
It occurred to me while I was organizing the pictures that Cassie and I haven’t shared a bathroom in about six years, since we moved out of our first apartment. Of course, given the size of the master bathroom, that shouldn’t be a problem.
I’m sure I’ll be posting much more about the house.

Looks really nice. Kristen said the same. I totally didn’t see any problem with the cabinets, until I went to Flickr. Definitely needs a bit of work. That shouldn’t be too bad. I agree about the trees. You should definitely put some trees in the back yard.
By the way, your photos are way better than the ones your agent had. What did you do to get the sky so blue in the first ones?
Occasionally I’ll “cheat” and jack up the saturation or vibrance in Lightroom to make the sky bluer. I didn’t have to this time, those pictures were more or less straight out of the camera.
Another trick of the trade to make the sky really blue is to use a polarizing filter. You can use them for other neat tricks too. I don’t have one though, good ones are pretty expensive. I’ll probably get one when I get a wide angle lens one of these days.
I knew about the polarizing filter for increasing the sky’s blueness. It didn’t look like you’d used one, though, because the blue was really even, and you were using a fairly wide angle. I didn’t know if you’d done some post-processing to get the effect or if it was just a good sky. I guess it was just a good sky this time. Very nice, either way.
I hope to pick up a polarizing filter eventually, too, but I’ll have to get lenses with non-rotating front elements first. Too much hassle to use otherwise.
