For this assignment you will write a profile of a famous computer scientist. The paper should be 500-900 words in length and must be double-spaced. The paper should have a list of references composed of at least two sources, preferably more. Books and papers are preferred over Internet sites. The paper should be submitted in PDF format by email.

The computer scientist to be profiled will be chosen from the list below. Other computer scientists can be chosen, as long as they are cleared with the instructor before class on January 26th. Students will choose the computer scientist they will profile in class on January 26th. Students will be allowed to choose in random order. Each computer scientist can only be chosen once.

There are 100 possible points for this assignment. They are distributed as noted in the grading sheet.

Extra Credit: Students can receive 10 extra points by using LaTeX to write their CS profile. Your instructor will be giving a seminar on LaTeX on February 11th at 3pm.

This assignment is due at class time on February 28. It will be considered late at 11am on March 1st. Students with questions about the assignment should see the instructor.

A few of the profiles will be chosen to be posted on the class web site. Questions on these profiles will be on Exam II.
